After announcing the EMUI 8.0 in 2017 based on Android Oreo, Huawei Technologies will launch the EMUI 9 based of Android P version. The Android 9.0 P is near to official launch with a name this time after the developer previews were released for the developers for several devices. Here we go through the Huawei EMUI 9 release date, features to expect, and list of eligible phones to get the EMUI 9.0 update.

Talking about the current EMUI development, it's the skin that is used by Huawei and Honor on their phones.

It's also known as the Emotion UI, so its short form is EMUI. Around 9 devices are listed to get the current stable EMUI 8.1 update and next in pipeline after that is the EMUI 9 update.

The EMUI 9 is slated to be the latest version of the EMUI skin that is used on Huawei and Honor phones.

There isn't, however, anything mentioned about the EMUI 9 features but it's expected to get all the Android 9.0 P features that come with the upgrade as listed by Google and also slated to bring the AI support out of the box. Further, it's slated to include several emojis and stickers.

The Huawei P30 Pro is expected to run on the EMUI 9 version out of the box. But before that arrives, the Mate 20 Pro is expected to be the first Huawei phone to run on the EMUI 9.0 version out of the box.

Most of the Huawei phones will get the EMUI 10 update which is supposed to be based on the Android Q version.
