You might know YouTube as a platform/website to watch Videos. IGTV is a YouTube alternative which serves the same purpose. Generally, those videos are created by publishers and any user can create/upload videos on IGTV.
Using IGTV, you can even watch videos from the creators that you already follow on Instagram. That's means that it's an extended version of Instagram for longer videos.

How to Create IGTV Channel
Just like YouTube, you need to create a Channel in order to upload videos on IGTV.
Here is how to create a Channel on IGTV:
- Open the IGTV app and sign-in.
- Now tap on a Wrecked icon at the center-right side to open Settings tab.
- Under Settings, you will find the option of 'Create Channel'. Tap on it.
- In the next three slides, click on Next, Next, and Next to create a channel.
That's it, your IGTV channel has been created.
You can create one Channel per IGTV account, which is pretty much similar to YouTube.
How To Switch Instagram Account on IGTV
Since IGTV is connected via Instagram, you might be running a few IGTV channels. If you are, then IGTV has got a solution for you.
Here is how to Switch Instagram Account on IGTV or conversely switch IGTV accounts:
- Open the IGTV app and sign-in. Now tap on a Wrecked icon at the center-right side to open Settings tab.
- Go to Settings.
- Now tap on Switch Account which is found under Account section.
- It will now ask you to login to your Instagram account. Login as per your needs. You can even login to IGTV using Facebook with that.
Once you add two or more IGTV channels, you can easily manage them through Settings > Switch Account tab.
How to Share IGTV Stories to your Facebook Stories
Did you know that you can even share the stories that you publish on IGTV app to your Facebook Stories automatically? Here is how to enable those settings:
- Just go to Settings.
- Head to Linked Accounts.
- Enable Share Your Story to Facebook.
How to Share IGTV Videos to Facebook
You can also share the IGTVideos that you publish on the app to your Facebook profile automatically? Here is how to enable those settings:
Just go to Settings > Linked Accounts and enable Share Your Posts to Facebook.
How to Make Money on IGTV App
Even though IGTV is a YouTube alternative, you can't make money directly. I hope an Instagram team will come up with a feature which offers incentives to all the IGTV publishers for creating intriguing videos.
IGTV Video Files Format Supported
Instagram TV only supports all the videos which are in the MP4 format.
IGTV Video Upload
To upload Videos on IGTV, you need to have certain requirements. Make sure that you should record videos in vertical format but not in the landscape. Aspect ratio is between a minimum of 4:5 and a maximum of 9:16.
IGTV Video Limits
IGTV has setup up video limits for the videos that you upload. You can upload atmost 650 MB video of up to 10 minutes.
Can I create multiple channels on IGTV?
No, as of now you Instagram TV account is limited for just one channel.
