Mentioned here are the 8 best blogging motivation tips for 2024 and stay focused to keep demotivation at bay.

Are you a blogger who started a blog recently? If yes, then this is a must-read post for you. If not, then also it will help you to stay motivated in your blogging journey.

Motivation is such a powerful ingredient of successful blogging. A blogger who lacks motivation lacks creativity and persistence. A motivated blogger, on the other hand, tends to be more creative, innovative, and persistent.

According to studies, one of the major reasons why bloggers fail is because of lose interest quickly and give up at an early stage in their blogging. Failures could have been avoided if they were properly motivated. The question now is, how do you keep yourself motivated to blog even when your blog is not growing?

Blogging Motivation:

Motivation varies from one blogger to another. For instance, some bloggers are motivated to blog because of its monetary incentives while some are motivated because of the attention and fame they get from it. Others are motivated by the sheer pleasure of expressing their thoughts and getting their voice heard.

It’s inevitable to experience losing your motivation to blog once in a while. However a prolonged state of ‘unmotivation’ could potentially harm your blog and may lead to a complete failure. Hence, in order to succeed in blogging, you need to keep yourself motivated at all times.

Considering the drawback of losing motivation, it is imperative that bloggers find ways to keep themselves motivated. Here are some practical tips based on my personal experience that have helped in keeping me motivated to blog.

  1. Blog About Something That Interests You

While it is strategic to blog about topics that give you more SEO advantages, it is more important to blog about topics that you are interested in. Blogging about your interests will better keep you motivated to blog because you are enjoying it. Most bloggers who gave up and failed in blogging are those who didn’t blog about their interests. So, it's always suggested to blog about your interested niche.

  1. Set Your Goals and Objectives

To stay motivated, another tip is to set your goals and objectives. Having your own set of goals and objectives will give you a sense of purpose and direction. Bloggers who don’t have goals and objectives are susceptible to becoming ‘unmotivated’ because they are likely to go astray and accomplish nothing.

The feeling of not accomplishing anything leads to being unmotivated. So set your goals first that is what you have to achieve.

  1. Breakdown Your Goals and Objectives

Setting your goals and objectives helps motivate you to blog but if you don’t break it down into smaller details, you might find yourself overwhelmed. As a consequence, you might feel that you have accomplished little of your objectives, which may lead to losing your motivation.

Breaking down your goals and objectives will enable you to systematically and gradually achieve them. Doing this will also allow you to monitor your progress.

  1. Monitor and Recognize Your Progress. Reward Yourself Afterwards

Once you have set your goals and objectives, and you’re done breaking them down, you should keep a record of your progress. It’s always nice to know that you have accomplished something and that you are growing. One factor that kills motivation is when you don’t know how you have progressed. You might think you didn’t progress at all. Knowing that you have accomplished something, on the other hand, helps to keep you motivated.

When you know that you have accomplished something, reward yourself. There are several ways to do this, like sharing with your readers about your progress or treating yourself with a good massage. Remember that the best way to reward yourself is to tell others (readers, family, networks, etc.) about your accomplishments.

  1. Aim for More Challenging Objectives and Goals. Accept More Tasks and Responsibilities

When you have accomplished your earlier goals and objectives, it’s now timely to aim for a more challenging goal. It’s also the right time to give yourself more tasks and responsibilities to fulfill.

The key is to make your tasks more challenging to break away from monotony, which could lead to becoming unmotivated. Just don’t make your goals and objectives too burdensome or unrealistic because this may lead to losing your motivation. A rule of thumb is to keep your goals realistic by considering the circumstances you are in.

  1. Find Competitors

Bloggers who write about the same thing I blog about (my competitors) have helped me to stay motivated. Over the past months of my blogging, I’ve monitored my competitors’ page rank and Alexa. I also kept track of their developments and how far I’ve been catching up. This has always been a great driving force for me to continue blogging.

The motivation to beat them and become better is really powerful and effective in keeping you motivated. I’m sure it will do the same to you.

  1. Break From Your Routine Once in while

If you are used to a routine of activity online, consider breaking it once in a while. If you blog every day, perhaps it will be good for you to skip a day and do something different. If you blog about computers, you might want to write about something else.

Again, the point of everything is to break away from being monotonous, which can kill your motivation.

  1. Experiment and Explore Your Potentials

I might have been punished by Google for violating their webmaster’s quality guidelines, but in the process, I was able to experiment and explore my potential. More importantly, it has helped me to keep myself motivated to blog. I personally believe that committing mistakes or discovering something helps you to keep motivated.

These 8 tips have helped me to keep myself motivated to blog. What kept you motivated? Your turn.
